Job summary

MTF Biologics seeks an Organ Placement Coordinator to assess, prioritize, and assign organ and tissue offers, coordinating with OPOs, research entities, and internal teams. You will monitor caseloads, guide allocation decisions, and ensure compliant donor records across UNOS systems.

Role requires strong communication, timely decisions in time-critical windows, and flexibility to work during weekends/holidays as needed. Collaborative, patient-outcome driven culture is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or health-related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• 3 years organ allocation experience at an OPO or equivalent training.
• Familiarity with UNOS/OPTN processes and time-sensitive allocations.

Responsibilities

• Assess, prioritize and assign all incoming organ and tissue offers to Organ Placement Coordinators on duty.
• Monitor and adjust caseloads to balance workload across the team.
• Lead turnover meetings to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
• Coordinate organ transport logistics to minimize ischemia times (12–24 hrs).
• Communicate donor information to research entities and obtain necessary documentation from OPOs.
• Review donor medical information in UNOS DonorNet and relay relevant data.
