Job summary

Midwest Transplant Network is seeking an Organ Procurement Coordinator to evaluate and manage potential organ donors and coordinate recovery activities. You will work closely with hospital staff to ensure donor care and successful transplantation processes.

The role requires clinical expertise, on-call availability, and the ability to travel within the MTN Donor Service Area to support donor families and teams in a sensitive, compliant manner.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in health sciences or equivalent field and professional clinical work experience required.
• Certification: NREMT-P with four years of clinical OPO experience, RRT licensure with six years critical care, or RN licensure with four years critical care.
• Ability to work the required minimum hours weekly and participate in 24-hour on-call or 12-hour shift schedule.
• Must be able to travel within MTN’s service area and be onsite at hospitals within the DSA.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medical suitability of potential organ donors using records, history, and current status.
• Collaborate with hospital medical staff and direct clinical management of donors.
• Manage donor hemodynamic stability and seek consultations as needed.
• Document all donor management and procedures in MTN systems.
• Lead transportation and logistics for local and outside recovery programs.
• Maintain donor stability in OR and act as Head of Bed specialist.
