Job summary

3M is seeking a Business Development Manager for the DoD and government agencies, based in Washington, DC. The role focuses on leading growth, shaping requirements, and converting early influence into funded programs within federal security and tactical forces.

You will navigate a matrixed organization to deliver strategic engagement plans, maintain relationships with decision-makers, and drive product adoption across protective equipment, communications, and materials portfolios.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Five years or more of experience with U.S. ground forces or federal law-enforcement in private, public, government, or military environments.
• Named, current relationships within Army/Marine Corps/SOC or federal law-enforcement procurement exercised within roughly the last three years.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance (active Secret preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead 3M’s growth and engagement strategy for the tactical-forces and federal law-enforcement communities.
• Win funded programs by positioning 3M’s capabilities into programs of record.
• Shape requirements by engaging labs, innovation entities, and standards bodies; convert early shaping into funded demand.
• Lead the Individual Equipment & Protection campaign and related pursuits through the capture process.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable internal strategy across 3M’s matrixed organization.
• Build and maintain a disciplined Salesforce CRM-based opportunity pipeline and executive-level communications.
