Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Yard and Dock Lead to oversee dock operations, coordinating trailer movements, yard flow, and safety compliance on a daily basis. This hands-on leadership role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure timely, safe dock activities.

You will monitor conditions, enforce processes, and support site leadership while maintaining strong customer service. Previous dock/yard leadership experience and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation setting.
• Ability to coordinate dock/yard activities in fast-paced operations.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication with daily customer-facing and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and dock equipment readiness.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage trailer docking, release, and yard flow.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe issues.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customers.
• Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities follow guidelines and 7S standards.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and peers as needed.
