Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Yard & Dock Coordinator to lead dock activities, coordinate trailer movements, and partner across operations to ensure safe, timely, and efficient movement of trailers.

You will work closely with operations, transportation, safety and customer teams to uphold accountability and service excellence. The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced environment, with shift patterns including 2nd shift and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard or transportation environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock/yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication for customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock equipment as required.
• Primary point of contact for loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage trailer docking, release, and yard flow with fleet safety in mind.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe conditions appropriately.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines and site SWIs.
• Support dock and yard organization per 7S standards.
• Conduct regular visual inspections to identify risks or delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership as needed.
