Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc is seeking a Yard & Dock Coordinator to lead the movement of trailers, ensuring safe and efficient dock operations. You will work closely with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to execute daily dock activities while modeling accountability and a commitment to service excellence.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, outdoor work in varied weather, and strong communication with internal and external stakeholders to maintain smooth dock and yard

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
• Adherence to safety standards, processes, and escalation procedures.
• Strong communication skills for daily interactions with customers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety and support dock-related equipment as required.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements to meet daily priorities.
• Manage docking, release, and yard flow in line with safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and apply stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams daily.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders and document updates.
