Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Dockmaster to lead dock activities, ensure safe and efficient trailer movements, and coordinate with site operations and customer teams. The role emphasizes accountability, safety, and strong service orientation in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Ideal candidates will manage dock sequencing, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and maintain compliance with site standards while supporting workload priorities and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in fast-paced operations.
• Knowledge of dock docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to follow processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and dock equipment readiness.
• Coordinate trailer movements and loading/unloading dock activities.
• Manage trailer docking, release, and yard flow.
• Monitor dock conditions and apply stop-work authority when needed.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and site SWIs.
• Support dock and yard organization following 7S standards.
• Conduct regular visual inspections and identify risks or delays.
• Use MS Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership as needed.
