Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc is seeking a Yard and Dock Coordinator to lead dock activities, coordinate trailer movements, and support site operations. You’ll ensure safety, efficiency, and timely yard flow while collaborating with operations, transportation, and customer teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, adherence to processes, and strong communication to deliver reliable dock performance in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, dock, yard or transportation environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and dock-related equipment usage.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Sequence dock and yard flow, ensuring safety standards are met.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe issues.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customers.
• Communicate professionally with internal/external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and SWIs.
• Support 7S workplace organization and regular inspections.
• Use Office tools to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage for site leadership and peers as needed.
