Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across the dock area and assist with loading to trailers in a fast-paced environment. Starting rate is $23.46 per hour with a typical shift from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Ideal candidates will have warehousing experience, ability to lift and maneuver heavy freight, and a willingness to work independently or as part of a team. Health benefits and 401(k) plan are available to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry varying weights several times a week and open trailer doors.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
