Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a warehouse associate to transport freight across dock areas and assist loading to trailers. The role involves lift-intensive work with forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual equipment, and requires accurate documentation and safety compliance.

The starting hourly rate is $21.16 with potential to $24.75, and shifts typically run early mornings. Eligible employees gain access to standard benefits and overtime opportunities, with a variety of warehouse duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Able to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100 pounds and trailers doors up to 75 pounds.
• Able to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazardous materials) in system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope and other supplies.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
