Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Dock Worker to move freight between dock areas and trailers, using forklifts and pallet jacks. You will verify documentation, secure loads, and assist with freight handling and customer needs on a deadline-driven shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math; good communication skills.
• Able to lift and move heavy freight and operate dock equipment.
• Experience with dock/warehouse environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight between dock areas and trailers.
• Operate motorized and manual equipment like forklift and pallet jack.
• Verify freight docs match description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Inspect and repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documents and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties as required.
• Follow laws, regulations, and company policies.
