Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a warehouse/dock worker to transport freight across dock areas to and from trailers, operating forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.

Starting pay at $27.63 per hour with a top end of $32.93, with full-time benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan and paid time off. The role requires accuracy, the ability to lift heavy freight, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math; good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, work with dock plates and trailer doors.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
