Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across the dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers. Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with a pay range of $21.16–$24.75 per hour.

Shift times are 0430-1030 and 1500-2000. The role involves operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, verifying freight paperwork, and ensuring proper securing of loads. Health and retirement benefits are provided for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry freight up to 100 lb and trailer doors up to 75 lb repeatedly.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description using current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
