Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. This role requires operating motorized and manual equipment such as forklift and pallet jack, verifying documentation, and securing freight inside trailers.

The starting pay is $21.16 per hour with early shift from 05:00 to 10:00. Applicants should be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and operate dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand trucks as needed.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
