Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring for a dock worker responsible for transporting freight between docks and trailers. You will operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck, verify freight documentation and secure loads for safe transit. The role requires basic math, good communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The position offers hourly pay and comprehensive benefits. You may participate in hostling duties and must comply with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing/freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and dock loads up to 100 pounds+ multiple times daily.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push and pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify documentation matches freight description using current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
