Job summary

Graybar seeks a Director of Electrical Sales to drive sales and gross margin budgets across the district’s electrical business. You will lead through Branch and Sales Managers, aligning field execution with Corporate strategy and ensuring annual gross margin budgets are met.

Role requires directing account activity at district level, budgeting input by location, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 10 years' experience in sales leadership or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of wholesale distribution industry
• Knowledge of company’s business, customers, suppliers and market conditions
• Knowledge of financial analysis methods and techniques
• Knowledge of continuous improvement practices
• Ability to leverage district and branch resources
• Ability to make fact-based decisions using data
• Ability to build relationships with key customers and suppliers
• Ability to lead complex project teams
• Ability to use standard office software

Responsibilities

• Direct quality sales support to customers through Branch Managers, Sales Managers, Account Managers, Sales Representatives and others
• Direct National and Corporate Account activity at district level to ensure conformance to national terms
• Review and approve applicable workflows
• Ensure sales policies are followed
• Assist the District VP in preparing district sales and gross margin budgets by location
• Ensure coverage to achieve budgets by location
• Recommend salaries and assignments for Sales Representatives and market/product staff to the District VP
• Collaborate with Branch Managers to assign accounts to Sales Representatives
• Oversee supplier selectivity within the district for strategic suppliers
