Job summary

Dallas Independent School District in Dallas, TX seeks an Executive Director I (226 Days) to lead all district athletic programs and centralized athletic facilities, ensuring alignment with UIL rules and promoting student development through sports.

The role oversees staffing, budgeting, scheduling, media relations, and contracts with radio and venues, while collaborating with Human Resources and school administrators to fill coaching vacancies and maintain a strong, safe athletic environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required from an accredited university in Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field.
• Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and level; PE endorsement or mid-management/principal certification.
• 5+ years of teaching and coaching experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Evidence of strong written and communication skills.
• Demonstrates ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that each student is provided the opportunity to participate in an extracurricular athletic activity.
• Provide information about available sports to students and parents.
• Direct and oversee all district athletic program and centralized athletic complexes.
• Interpret and enforce UIL and district rules and regulations regarding interscholastic competition and eligibility.
• Develop a marketing plan to promote the Athletics Department.
• Prepare and administer operational budget to ensure the needs of all school athletic departments are met.
• Develop systems and processes for eligibility, hiring, student injuries, coaching requirements, and other athletics related issues.
