Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalence required.
• Demonstrated varsity-level coaching experience and knowledge of interscholastic athletics.
• Knowledge of Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) rules and athletic administration practices.
• Ability to coordinate and manage middle school and high school programs (scheduling, events, facilities, staff, eligibility).
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with students, families, coaches, administrators, staff, officials, and community partners.
• Commitment to student development, education-based athletics, sportsmanship, and school/community relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the District’s middle and high school athletic programs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate athletic programs with administrators, coaches, students, families, and community partners.
• Serve as the District’s primary contact for MHSAA and TVC matters and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Attend required athletic, conference, and professional development meetings.
• Recruit, supervise, support, and evaluate athletic coaches.
• Ensure coaches complete MHSAA trainings and certifications.
• Schedule contests, officials, transportation, facilities, and staff.
• Prepare and supervise home events and host visiting schools and officials.
• Maintain procedures for event safety, weather-related issues, cancellations, and emergencies.
• Verify and maintain student-athlete eligibility and related records.
• Ensure compliance with eligibility, transfer, concussion, and return-to-play requirements.
• Oversee safety and maintenance of athletic facilities and equipment.
• Develop and manage the athletic department budget and monitor expenditures.
• Coordinate liaison work with the Carrollton Athletic Association and youth organizations.
• Promote student-athlete development through academics, leadership, and character development.
• Coordinate student-athlete college signing events and recognition programs.
