Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a School Athletic Director to oversee a comprehensive high school athletics program under the direction of the Executive Director of Sports Administration. The role includes coordination with the Principal, OSA, IHSA, and various stakeholders to ensure policy compliance and student success.

The position requires leadership, budgeting, recruitment, and program development to support the district’s mission of equity and excellence in athletics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
• NIAAA Registered Athletic Administrator preferred.
• IHSA trainings completed (as required).

Responsibilities

• Administers extracurricular athletic programs and events.
• Oversees budgeting, procurement, travel, and facilities.
• Maintains eligibility, records, and reporting to compliance bodies.
• Recruits, evaluates and develops coaching staff.
• Ensures safety and adherence to district policies.
