Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking an Athletic Director to lead a comprehensive high school athletics program. You will oversee extracurricular activities, supervise staff, ensure compliance with policy, and manage budgeting.

Reporting to the Executive Director of CPS Sports Administration and the Building Principal, you will develop programs, coordinate schedules and transportation, and monitor student-athlete academic performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required.
• NIAAA certification preferred / required.
• Minimum of three years in sports program administration and/or interscholastic sports.

Responsibilities

• Administer extracurricular athletic programs and activities.
• Supervise licensed and non-licensed athletics staff, including coaches and trainers.
• Maintain required files and records (eligibility, paperwork).
• Develop grade-check system and monitor academic performance of student-athletes.
• Oversee transportation, scheduling, and facilities for athletic events.
• Coordinate budget, purchasing, and contracts for athletic programs.
