Job summary

Leidos in Durham, NC seeks a Distribution Engineering Supervisor to lead design teams on overhead and URD projects, coordinating with clients to ensure high-quality outputs using GIS and Work Management systems.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 2+ years in electric distribution design, NESC proficiency, and strong communication. You will guide calculations, support staff, and help grow the team toward professional licensure and project success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in electric distribution design engineering.
• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from ABET-accredited school; relevant experience may count in lieu of degree.
• Experience with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
• Experience with structural analysis, guying calculations, cable pulling calculations, and protective device coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight, direction, and support for project teams on electrical distribution projects.
• Assist with supervision of design staff and QA/QC for your team.
• Collaborate with design leads on client issues including schedule adherence and quality control.
• Review engineering design packages with clients and perform planning and follow-up tasks.
• Perform scope analysis and maintain schedule adherence to client priorities.
• Oversee engineering calculations for wood pole loading, guying, conductor sags/tensions, voltage drop and flicker.
