Job summary

Leidos in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager to lead distribution engineers and designers in developing construction work packages for electric distribution systems. This role provides technical oversight and QA/QC for both simple and complex projects, using GIS, CAD, and WMS tools.

You will work closely with clients, manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and BOMs, and guide hiring and professional development of the team.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical) required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience or 6+ years with master's degree.
• Proven experience leading engineering personnel.
• Knowledge of NESC and client construction standards.
• Strong project management skills across full lifecycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight, direction, and support for project teams.
• Function as client point of contact and liaison on project-related issues.
• Collaborate with design managers on schedule adherence and quality control.
• Oversee existing capital, reliability, and customer project work.
• Facilitate client and team collaboration; manage resource loading.
• Track scope, schedule, and budget for projects in flight.
• Oversee QA/QC for your design team.
• Monitor team performance metrics.
• Track and report financial metrics.
• Participate in hiring and professional development activities.
