Position Purpose
Responsible for the success of assigned functions within a complex distribution center environment; works with GM or AGM to develop strategies and objectives for maximizing productivity and leveraging expenses; manages and oversees the maintenance of equipment and facility; analyzes trends and solves problems to maximize contribution to the DC's success; typically manages a team of direct reports to achieve these results.
Key Responsibilities
- 20% Ensures operational excellence in all warehouse areas, including operations of warehouse management systems and related equipment; ensures inventory is received efficiently and processed safely; maintains warehouse layout and organization; establishes methods and procedures; resolves operational problems; communicates expertise and approvals.
- 30% Manages and oversees facility maintenance, repairs, and installations; sources and reviews contractor bids; ensures contractor compliance with safety, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- 15% Reviews maintenance and quality reports to plan and modify activities; recommends cost-effective and safety-compliant improvements.
- 15% Promotes safety culture by following safety policies; monitors safety, security, and inspects facilities regularly for compliance.
- 20% Coaches, trains, and develops associates; provides performance feedback; ensures certifications; fosters a union-free, employee-centered environment.
Reporting and Travel
- Typically reports to GM.
- Overnight travel less than 10%.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Requires physical exertion such as walking, standing, lifting; environment may include temperature extremes, machinery, noise, fumes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Operations Management, Business, or Supply Chain.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in change management, distribution, conveyor systems, electrical controls.
- Flexible schedule, available for weekends, holidays, and relocation.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in distribution environment; no additional education or leadership experience required.
