ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is seeking a Field Manager, Maintenance & Reliability to join our Operations Services team. The position is remote, ideally near an ESG Operations Services location, with up to 75% travel to project sites.
The Field Manager (Manager), Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) collaborates with the Director, Operations Services to develop and implement M&R programs, providing technical leadership across ESG’s facilities. The role involves optimizing the reliability and efficiency of utility equipment and systems, requiring knowledge of steam generation, hot water, chilled water, electrical power, HVAC, automation, and related systems. The candidate must be strategic and hands-on, capable of managing multiple priorities with urgency.
Essential Functions
- Leads M&R Programs
- Develops, implements, and optimizes predictive and preventive maintenance programs to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborates with the Director to improve site PM initiatives.
- Creates operating and maintenance procedures, SOPs, and training based on industry best practices.
- Analyzes equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Works with site managers on issue resolution and improvement planning.
Provides Project Support- Supports capital projects from scope to commissioning.
- Ensures reliable operation of power, utility, and HVAC equipment, often coordinating with third-party engineers.
- Conducts process studies to optimize operations.
- Coordinates with contractors and suppliers as needed.
Provides Technical Leadership and Support- Establishes equipment lifecycle and obsolescence plans.
- Coordinates technical training for technicians.
- Supports site start-up and commissioning.
- Benchmarks industry practices to improve operations and customer satisfaction.
- Serves as a safety role model, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Provides Site Support- Partners with site leadership on safety, environmental, financial, and operational objectives.
- Leads or supports major equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Assists in planning turnarounds and shutdowns.
- Provides backup support to site management as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of maintenance and engineering experience in power generation, utilities, or large industrial facilities.
- Management experience in large maintenance or engineering teams.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance, reliability programs, and methodologies.
- Expertise in automation, energy systems, or renewable energy.
- Knowledge of CI tools like Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, Lean.
- Certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional or Certified Energy Manager.
