Job description

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP

is looking for a Field Manager, Maintenance & Reliability to join our Operations Services team. This position is remote, ideally near an ESG Operations Services location, with frequent travel up to 75% to project sites.

The Field Manager (Manager), Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) will work with the Director, Operations Services to lead strategy, development, and implementation of M&R programs. The role provides technical leadership and support across ESG's Operations Services facilities, focusing on optimizing the reliability and efficiency of utility equipment and systems. Candidates should have technical knowledge and practical experience with processes and equipment related to steam generation, distribution, hot water, chilled water, electrical power, HVAC, plant automation, and supporting systems. The role requires strategic thinking combined with hands-on operational support, managing multiple priorities, and acting with urgency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leads M&R Programs: Develops and optimizes predictive and preventive maintenance programs, enhances site PM initiatives, develops operating and maintenance procedures, and trends equipment performance to identify improvement initiatives.
  2. Provides Project Support: Supports capital projects, ensures reliable operation of power, utility, and HVAC equipment, and conducts process studies to enhance operational parameters.
  3. Provides Technical Leadership and Support: Establishes recapitalization plans, coordinates technical training, assists in site start-ups, benchmarks industry practices, and ensures safety compliance.
  4. Provides Site Support: Partners with site leadership on safety, environmental, financial, and operational objectives; leads major repairs, troubleshooting, and shutdowns; supports management as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of maintenance and engineering experience in power generation, utility plants, or large industrial facilities.
  • Experience managing large maintenance or engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement programs.
Preferred Skills:
  • Training in preventive/predictive maintenance, reliability programs, and methodologies.
  • Expertise in maintenance practices, automation, energy systems, or renewable energy.
  • Experience with CI methods like Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, Lean.
  • Certifications such as Maintenance and Reliability Professional, Energy Manager, or Power Engineer license.
