Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate driver assignments, communicate with customers, and manage daily route activities. You will handle inbound calls, resolve service issues, and ensure routes are completed efficiently while adhering to safety and DOT guidelines.

The role requires map literacy, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced waste and recycling environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read maps and provide directions.
• Professional communication with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to handle high call volumes professionally and efficiently.
• Must be organized and detail oriented with strong data entry.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch work orders to drivers via radio or phone to service sites.
• Provide coverage for other lines of business during absences.
• Handle incoming calls from customers and internal teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve service, pick-up and delivery issues.
• Assist with route planning and driver workload management.
• Maintain route sheets and ensure DOT paperwork compliance.
• Monitor drivers via GeoTab GPS system.
• Interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
