Job summary

EY is seeking a Government & Public Sector Compliance Specialist in the US to work with engagement teams on disaster recovery funding programs (FEMA, HUD CDBG-DR) for state and local governments and clients in the public sector.

You will travel to client sites, support project development, manage large data sets, and verify compliance across complex grant programs while delivering high quality results in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, law, business, finance, emergency management or related field.
• 1+ years of related compliance, audit, or financial management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Work with engagement teams to provide government and public sector clients a variety of services related to the management and compliance of disaster recovery funding made available through complex grant and stimulus programs (FEMA, HUD CDBG-DR).
• Assist with large grant projects for states and local governments, interact with local governments to support project development, organize and analyze large volumes of information, and verify numerous aspects of compliance including transaction testing and programmatic requirements.
• Travel and presence at client sites, along with in‑office presence, will be required.
