Job summary

The American Red Cross in Fort Worth, TX invites applications for a Disaster Services Program Manager. This role leads volunteer teams, partners with communities, and deploys to support disaster relief efforts.

You’ll manage program activities, build leadership among volunteers, and coordinate with internal partners while ensuring readiness and rapid response across the region. The position requires flexibility, strong communication, and a commitment to service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 5 years leading and developing volunteer teams to execute a social services program.
• A Valid Driver's License and a clean MVR.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to deploy for disaster relief and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Empower Volunteers: Lead and support a diverse volunteer team responsible for disaster cycle services programming throughout the assigned geographic area.
• Lead the Program: Implement disaster cycle services activities within the region or assigned geographic area.
• Mission Capacity Building: Develop and support disaster volunteers to meet responsibilities across readiness, response and recovery.
• Engage Community: Lead and coordinate efforts to prepare and mobilize communities and engage partners with specific expertise.
• Manage in a Matrix: Build relationships and collaborate with internal partners and volunteers.
• Know Your Communities: Act as the disaster subject matter expert within the area to maximize presence and engagement.
• Ready to Respond: Initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations in the area, with travel up to 25%.
