Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Community Disaster Program Manager to lead volunteer-driven disaster cycle services across the region. You will mobilize partners, build leadership volunteers, and ensure readiness in communities served.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years managing volunteers, and a valid driver's license. This on-site role requires strong communication and collaboration across diverse teams and supports deployments to disaster sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience building, mobilizing, leading and developing volunteer teams.
• Valid Driver’s License and a clean MVR.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work outside regular hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a diverse volunteer team delivering disaster cycle services.
• Implement disaster cycle services activities within the assigned area or region.
• Develop Disaster Leadership Volunteers to meet responsibilities.
• Engage communities and partners to prepare for and respond to disasters.
• Build relationships with internal partners and volunteers in a matrix setting.
• Act as disaster subject matter expert to maximize community presence.
• Coordinate disaster relief operations in the area as needed.
