Job summary

American Red Cross in the United States seeks a Community Disaster Program Manager to lead volunteer teams and coordinate disaster readiness and response across the region.

You will mobilize partners, manage community engagement, and deploy to disaster operations as needed. A strong focus on leadership, collaboration, and program development supports our mission to help people in times of crisis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience building, mobilizing, leading and developing volunteer teams.
• A current valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Empower Volunteers: lead and support a diverse volunteer team across the geographic area.
• Lead the Program: implement disaster cycle services activities within the region.
• Mission Capacity Building: develop disaster Leaders and volunteers for readiness and response.
• Engage Community: mobilize communities and engage partners with expertise.
• Manage in a Matrix: collaborate with internal partners and volunteers.
• Know Your Communities: act as disaster SME to maximize presence and engagement.
• Ready to Respond: coordinate disaster relief operations per COOP guidance.
