Job summary

Jazz Pharmaceuticals seeks a Director, Business Strategy & Operations – Discovery & Research to serve as a strategic partner to the CSOs in Neuroscience and Oncology. This role leads workforce planning, budgeting, executive communications, and post-deal integration while coordinating with HR, Resource Management, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Requires extensive experience in biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or life sciences with drug development exposure.
• Experience partnering with executive leaders (VP/SVP level) in strategic business operations or PMO.
• Demonstrated track record in workforce planning, capacity modeling, resource allocations, and timecard compliance.
• Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets and multi-year workforce plans.
• Strong executive communication skills for board-level presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Chief of Staff activities for CSOs in Neuroscience and Oncology, including cadence, QBRs, and offsites.
• Oversee workforce planning and resource management across Discovery to support target identification and lead optimization.
• Manage functional budget forecasting, accruals, and variance analyses for OpEx and headcount.
• Diligence for business development and post-deal integration in collaboration with Corporate Development.
• Set OKRs/KPIs and develop dashboards to track research velocity and operational health.
