Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director of Software Product and Tech Diligence to lead pre- and post‑deal assessments for private equity clients. You will direct engagements, guide cross‑functional teams, and coordinate data requests with bankers and clients, translating technical findings into commercial insights.

Strong communication with senior leaders is essential. Applicants should have extensive consulting experience in tech or software sectors, a track record with private equity sponsors,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience.
• Minimum of five years consulting to the tech industry or software/tech-enabled services.
• Proven ability to produce executive-level client deliverables and interact with senior leaders.
• Experience working with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or transaction due diligence is desirable.
• Strong fact-gathering and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.

Responsibilities

• Define objectives, scope, and approach for software product and tech due diligence engagements.
• Lead teams in the execution of engagements and participate in client interactions.
• Oversee data request development and coordinate with bankers and clients to obtain artifacts.
• Guide analysis across product features, architecture, IP, R&D, cost structure, and hosting.
• Summarize insights into client-ready exhibits and deliverables.
• Ensure quality of deliverables and maintain day-to-day client relationships.
• Coach and develop staff, and contribute to recruitment and staffing decisions.
• Help evolve deliverables and methodology for software product and tech diligence.
• Lead business development activities and foster client relationships.
