Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in Chicago is seeking a Manager, Software Product and Tech Diligence to join the Private Equity Performance Improvement team. You will lead software product and tech diligence assessments for PE clients and portfolio companies, focusing on features, architecture, IP, and development lifecycle.

The role requires 5–8 years in consulting or tech product/due diligence, strong executive communication, and travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

5-8 years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience, with a minimum of five years consulting to the tech industry or specializing in software/tech-enabled services product management or software development.
Desirable: experience working for or with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or related transaction / product and tech due diligence.
Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to deliver executive-level client-ready materials.
Proven track record working with business leaders and PE deal staff.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical field.

Responsibilities

Actively participate in target and client interactions, including interviews and readouts.
Develop and manage the data request list for the assessment.
Conduct detailed analysis across assessment areas, focusing on data gathering and analysis.
Summarize insights into client-ready exhibits and deliverables.
Ensure quality of deliverables and manage day-to-day relationships.
Supervise and mentor junior staff.
