Job summary

Pearson’s Virtual Learning division seeks a Director of School Operations (DSO), a senior, enterprise‑level leader responsible for operational excellence across a portfolio of Connections Academy schools. The DSO partners with school leaders to strengthen effectiveness, ensure compliance, and scale operations to support student success.

You will coach principals and leadership teams, align calendars and policies, enable enrollment growth, and collaborate with boards and partners.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years proven leadership experience as Principal or equivalent level.
• Advanced degree in Education or Management is required.
• Virtual school leadership experience required.
• Willing to travel frequently.
• Strong communications skills and data-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio-level school operations across multiple schools.
• Directly coach and develop school leaders; ensure compliance and execution.
• Enable enrollment growth through operational readiness.
• Coordinate school year calendars, policies, and processes across the portfolio.
• Engage with boards, authorizers, and external partners to support continuity.
• Support change management and continuous improvement across the network.
