Job summary

Providence is seeking a Director, Professional Coding to provide strategic and operational leadership for professional coding across the health system. This role ensures compliant, accurate, and timely coding to support claim submission, regulatory reporting, quality initiatives, and population health programs.

As a senior leader, you will develop coding strategies, oversee teams and drive performance, quality, and productivity while partnering with clinical, operational, and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HIM or healthcare-related field.
• 10+ years in ICD-10-CM coding and official guidelines.
• 7+ years in management of coding operations and teams.
• Experience standardizing processes across multiple facilities.
• Proven ability identify and resolve issues impacting business outcomes.
• Experience with process improvement and change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead professional coding operations across the health system.
• Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely coding of professional services.
• Develop and implement coding strategies, standards, and best practices.
• Drive performance, quality, productivity, and compliance outcomes.
• Partner with clinical, operational, compliance, and revenue cycle leaders to improve processes.
• Manage coding teams and resources to support organizational goals.
