Job summary

BMCHS seeks a Director of PB Coding Operations & Education to oversee coding standards, compliance and reimbursement across the organization. You will manage coding staff, establish training programs for providers and staff, and drive quality reviews and performance improvements.

The role requires strong expertise in ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT and E/M coding, plus leadership experience mentoring teams. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are offered with a focus on professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
• CPC - Certified Professional Coder is required.
• Minimum of 10 years related experience in professional coding with ICD-9/ICD-10, E/M and CPT. Previous management experience required; education/mentoring/training included.
• Expertise in ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT and E/M coding principles and guidelines; knowledge of payer reimbursement methodologies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide coding oversight and standards to ensure accuracy, compliance and reimbursement across BUMG.
• Facilitate education with physicians, coders and staff to improve coding accuracy.
• Direct coding activities to ensure accurate, compliant coding for all services.
• Ensure quality reviews to validate coding accuracy.
• Engage in denials/review processes with billing to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Identify documentation/coding trends and implement corrective action.
• Evaluate and report on coding process effectiveness.
• Serve as contact for professional coding across BUMG.
• Collaborate with HR on recruitment and training per policies and laws.
• Manage personnel through mentoring and a commitment to excellence.
• Monitor productivity and opportunities for program improvement.
• Encourage staff development through education programs and industry standards.
• Adhere to RESPECT behavioral standards.
