Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Manager of Professional Coding Quality & Education to lead education and quality initiatives across the physician enterprise. The role partners with physician leadership, compliance, finance, and IT to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant coding supporting high-quality care and optimal reimbursement.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, CPC certification, and 5+ years of leadership in professional coding, with preference for RHIT/RHIA and experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CPC or equivalent professional coding certification required.
• RHIT or RHIA preferred.
• Five+ years of progressive professional coding leadership experience.
• Experience leading coding quality, compliance and education initiatives.
• Experience with outsourced coding vendors and vendor performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead coding education and quality programs across the physician enterprise.
• Partner with physician leadership and operational leaders to ensure compliant coding practices.
• Drive adoption of CAC, AI-enabled coding solutions and workflow automation.
• Oversee coding audits, accuracy, and reimbursement performance.
• Provide coding guidance to providers and leadership.

Education

Bachelor’s degree

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent

RHIT or RHIA certification (preferred)
