Job summary

Providence is seeking a Director, Coding to provide strategic and operational leadership for professional coding across the health system. You will ensure compliant, accurate, and timely coding to support submissions, reporting, quality initiatives, and population health programs.

Leading cross-functional coding teams, you will drive standards, performance, and collaboration with clinical, operations, compliance, and revenue cycle partners to optimize coding quality and revenue cycle outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AHIMA accredited HIM or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of ICD-10-CM coding experience.
• 7+ years in a management/supervisory role overseeing coding operations.
• Proven history standardizing complex processes across facilities and settings.
• Experience identifying and escalating issues impacting business outcomes.
• Experience in process improvement and change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead professional coding operations across the health system.
• Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely coding of professional services.
• Develop and implement coding strategies, standards, and best practices.
• Drive performance, quality, productivity, and compliance outcomes.
• Partner with clinical, operational, compliance, and revenue cycle leaders to improve processes.
• Manage coding teams and resources to support organizational goals.
