A leading healthcare organization in San Antonio seeks a Director of Nursing to support the Chief Nursing Officer in overseeing nursing and patient care functions. This role involves managing resources, ensuring staff competency, and maintaining quality outcomes across multiple units.
Salary & Benefits: $110,000 - $140,000 annually + incentive opportunity + full benefits.
Role Overview: This leadership role supports the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in overseeing all nursing and patient care functions within the hospital. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices across multiple units. The role involves 24/7 oversight of designated areas, ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, staff competency, and resource management.
The Director manages resources for one or two departments on a 24-hour basis, including budget management, resource utilization, staff recruitment and management, quality outcomes, performance improvement, and maintaining positive relationships with staff and other departments. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field
5 years of experience in the relevant discipline or specialty
3-5 years of progressively responsible management experience
Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
Specialty or administration certification is desirable
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, proven leadership, hospital operational knowledge, and ability to serve as a role model and advocate for nursing.
