A leading healthcare organization in San Antonio is seeking a Director to provide leadership in nursing services. This role includes budget management, staff recruitment, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Nursing and significant management experience.

This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice across multiple units. The role assumes 24/7 responsibility for the areas assigned by the Director. It is accountable for supporting the CNO to ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and effective resource management related to patient care.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing resources for one to two departments on a 24-hour basis. Responsibilities include budget management, efficient resource utilization, staff recruitment and management, achieving quality outcomes, performance improvement, monitoring service quality and quantity, maintaining positive relationships with staff and system departments, and equipment management. Completes established competencies within the designated introductory period. Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
5 years of experience in the discipline or specialty.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of progressively responsible management experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE:
Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE:
Specialty or administrative certification is desired. Responsibilities include maintaining an active and current registered nurse license in the state of practice, demonstrating effective interpersonal and communication skills, proven leadership, hospital operational ability, and serving as a role model and advocate for nursing.
Qualifications
Education:
Required: Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN.
Preferred: MSN or master's in a healthcare-related field.
Experience:
Required: 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
Certifications:
Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law, regulation, or policy in the state of practice. AHA BLS certification is required.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
