A leading healthcare organization in San Antonio is seeking a Director of Nursing for the NICU. This role involves overseeing nursing practices, managing resources, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a background in nursing management.
DIRECTOR OF NURSING / NICU San Antonio, Texas
$110-140K+ Annual Incentive Opportunity + Full Benefits.
This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice across multiple units. It assumes 24/7 responsibility for the assigned areas and is accountable for supporting the CNO to ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, staff competency, and resource management related to patient care.
The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing resources for one to two departments on a 24-hour basis. Responsibilities include:
Completes established competencies within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field
5 years of experience in the discipline or specialty
3-5 years of progressively responsible management experience
Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
Specialty or Administrative certification preferred
Active and current registered nurse license in the state of practice. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, proven leadership, hospital operational ability, and the capacity to serve as a role model and advocate for nursing.
Required: Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN.
Preferred: MSN or master's in a healthcare-related field.
Required: 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or charge nurse.
Preferred: Additional management experience is advantageous.
Required: Current licensure, certification, or registration as per law and policy. AHA BLS certification.

Pay: $110,000 - $140,000 per year
