Director of Nursing - Labor and Delivery - Full-Time - Days

• Salary : $130,000 - $140,000 per year (based on experience)
• Sign-On Bonus : Up to $10,000
• Relocation Assistance : Case by Case

Overview

A large acute care hospital in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Director of Nursing for Labor and Delivery to lead a 40-50 bed maternity care unit with a team of 143 staff members . This is a key leadership role focused on nursing excellence, team engagement, and patient satisfaction within a high-volume L&D environment.Responsibilities

• Provide 24 / 7 leadership and full accountability for Labor and Delivery services
• Promote professional nursing practice and ensure high standards of clinical care
• Serve as a liaison between physicians, staff, and administrative leadership
• Lead efforts in employee engagement, patient experience, and operational performance
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate process improvements and change management
• Foster a collaborative and accountable culture within the L&D team

Requirements

• BSN required (Bachelor's in Nursing)
• Minimum 5 years of L&D nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Minimum 2 years of management experience in L&D
• Recent RN experience in acute care setting (within last 3 years)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proven ability to drive patient satisfaction and employee engagement
• Must be able to build trust with staff while maintaining accountability
