Beacon Hill is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead payroll, benefits strategy, and AI-enabled reporting for a national trade association. The role focuses on modernizing HR operations, workforce insights, and engagement across the organization.

The candidate will drive payroll processing, benefits management, and HR analytics while guiding talent management and HR systems enhancements in a hybrid Arlington, VA setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• 8+ years progressive HR experience, including 2+ years at director level.
• Experience with payroll administration and group benefits.
• Strong HR metrics, KPIs, and AI-enabled reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll administration, bi-weekly payroll workflows, deductions and withholdings reconciliation; support 401(k) administration.
• Oversee group medical and voluntary benefits plan management, renewals, and open enrollment execution.
• Track metrics and KPIs, using AI tools to develop dashboards and workforce insights.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives: surveys, programs, lunch-and-learns, webinars, wellness activities.
• Support talent management, recruiting, HR systems, policy development and continuous improvement.

The Director of Human Resources will lead hands-on HR operations and modernization for an established national trade association, with particular emphasis on payroll, benefits, employee engagement, and AI-enabled reporting. About the Job:

• Responsible for payroll administration, including bi-weekly payroll workflows, reconciling deductions and withholdings, and related payroll processing; provide additional support of the organization's 401(k) administration.
• Lead benefits plan management and strategy, overseeing group medical and voluntary benefits, renewals, broker/carrier relationships, plan recommendations, and oversee the team's execution of open enrollment.
• Track metrics and KPIs, utilizing AI-tools to develop dashboards, reports, and actionable workforce insights.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives; administer and review surveys, develop programming and coordinate opportunities such as lunch-and-learns, speakers, webinars, and wellness activities.
• Support broader HR priorities including talent management and recruiting, HR systems, policy development, training effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You:

• A bachelor's degree is required for this role; a master's degree and/or SHRM/PHR are preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive, full-cycle HR experience, including 2+ years at a director level.
• Demonstrated experience with payroll administration and group benefit plan management.
• Strong understanding of HR metrics, KPIs, and reporting, including utilizing AI tools to generate dashboards and data-driven insights.
• Inquisitive and AI-forward thinking with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Salary Range: $140,000-$150,000 (DOE).
