Job summary

Reworld Waste is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Electrical Design Engineering team across North America. You will drive HV, MV, and LV electrical infrastructure design and supervise SMEs, capital projects, and feasibility studies while collaborating with cross-functional leaders and site teams.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will shape standards, mentor talent, manage budgets, and prioritize projects with roughly 30% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering/Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 15–20 years in electrical engineering with 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience with MV and HV systems (switchgear, transformers, relays).
• Experience leading technical teams and project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Discipline/Design Engineering: manage and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team.
• Capital Projects: lead electrical infrastructure design for capital projects.
• Technical Programs: lead strategic technical programs.
• Technical Standards: develop and maintain electrical specs and standards library.
• Operations Support: provide engineering support for technology upgrades.
• External Engineering Partners: manage outside engineering firms.
• Front-End Loading (FEL): lead front-end design activities for capital projects.
• Coaching and Mentoring: mentor SMEs and train on FEL tools.
• Feasibility Studies: lead studies balancing total cost of ownership.
