Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Electrical Design Engineering team across North America, supporting energy-from-waste facilities. The role focuses on high-, medium-, and low-voltage infrastructure, equipment, and relaying, with travel to site locations expected about 30% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering/Science (Electrical Engineering) from an accredited institution.
• 15-20 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, including at least five years of leadership experience.
• Experience with MV and HV systems (switchgear, MCCs, relaying, transformers).
• Demonstrated experience managing technical teams.
• Experience across the project execution lifecycle: concept, construction, commissioning, start-ups.
• PE license in the United States is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Discipline/Design Engineering: Manage, prioritize, and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team and SMEs.
• Capital Projects: Lead electrical infrastructure design engineering for capital projects.
• Technical Programs: Lead programs of strategic importance.
• Technical Standards: Develop and maintain electrical specs and standards library.
• Operations Support: Provide engineering support to operations and technology upgrades.
• External Engineering Partners: Engage and manage external firms for sound electrical designs.
• Front-End Loading (FEL): Lead FEL activities for capital projects.
• Coaching and Mentoring: Mentor SMEs and train on FEL tools.
• Feasibility Studies: Lead studies evaluating total cost of ownership.
