Job summary

Roanoke-Chowan Community College seeks a Distance Learning Coordinator to work with Deans, Vice Presidents, and faculty to plan and develop modalities for online, hybrid, blended, and hyflex classes, including video conferencing and other distanced technologies.

You will train faculty and students on the college LMS, coordinate distance learning initiatives, and market them, serving as the primary LMS administrator and DL support for students needing assistance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or related field.
• Teaching experience with distance learning technology and LMS platforms.
• Experience training faculty and students on LMS platforms and distance learning tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop modalities for distance learning classes (online, hybrid, blended, and DL using video conference tools).
• Train faculty and students on the college LMS and related technologies.
• Coordinate distance learning initiatives and market DL programs.
• Serve as primary LMS administrator and support students needing DL assistance.
• Ensure DL guidelines comply with State, Federal, NC-SARA, and SACSCOC regulations.
• Develop instructional training materials and orientations for DL topics.
• Monitor course quality, accessibility, and student engagement in DL courses.
• Maintain DL webpages and manage video conferencing and DL analytics.

Skills

Teaching experience in distance lear­-

Strong communication and coordination

Education

Master’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or related field

Two years of administrative leadership experience in academic programs
