Job summary

Northeast State Community College seeks a Director of Digital Learning to lead online learning initiatives, collaborate with faculty and staff, and elevate instructional design practices. The role focuses on pedagogy, accessibility, and emerging educational technologies to advance student success.

The position reports to the AVP of Academic Programs, Assessments, and Accreditation and requires strong collaboration with deans, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to enhance online

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in instructional design, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, or related field.
• Minimum five years in higher education with online learning or faculty development experience.
• Experience with learning management systems (D2L, Canvas, Blackboard).
• Knowledge of quality standards for online teaching and digital pedagogy.
• Awareness of digital accessibility standards including ADA and WCAG.
• Experience applying AI in higher education instructional use cases.
• Experience designing and delivering professional development for faculty or staff.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare actionable reports for improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of instructional design standards and processes for Northeast State Online.
• Collaborate with academic leaders to advance online and tech-enhanced instruction.
• Oversee instructional design services ensuring quality, accessibility, and best practices.
• Evaluate instructional technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
• Use data to assess digital learning initiatives and guide improvements.
• Coordinate workshops, webinars, and consultations on instructional design.
• Promote digital accessibility standards across online environments and materials.
• Serve on committees to support innovation, accreditation, and student success.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
