Job summary

Southwestern Community College in North Carolina seeks an E-Learning Coordinator to work with faculty and the Dean of Teaching and Learning Support to advance technology-enabled instruction and distance learning services.

You will administer the LMS, provide technical and pedagogical assistance, train instructors and students, and maintain the e-learning website and archives. The role also includes QM coordination and program evaluation, with some travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design/technology or related field.
• Preferred: Master’s degree.
• Experience administering Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas or Sakai.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty and work independently.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Experience teaching/training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer instructional software systems, including the LMS, with stakeholders.
• Provide technical and pedagogical assistance to faculty for course development.
• Train instructors and students on instructional software usage.
• Participate in evaluation and continuous improvement of the e-learning department.
• Maintain the e-learning website and curriculum archives; generate reports.
• Coordinate Social Media posts for the division with the PIO office.
• Research and evaluate emerging instructional technologies and tools.
• Serve as the College Quality Matters Coordinator, including scheduling external reviews.
• Assist in faculty development activities and course reviews.
