Job summary

Clearway Energy Group seeks a Director of Construction in San Francisco to lead construction management, planning, scheduling, and cost control across wind, solar, and BESS projects. The role reports to the SVP, Construction and focuses on timely, cost-effective project execution.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams, while supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with contracts and schedules. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with wind energy projects and/or PV Solar & BESS energy projects.
• 15+ years progressive construction experience required.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts and deliver high-quality results on time.
• Experience supervising direct reports and providing feedback.
• Strong communication with internal/external stakeholders and customers.
• Proficient in Excel and financial/analytical computations.

Responsibilities

• Connect with stakeholders to develop timelines and project deliverables.
• Identify project pinch points to avoid delays.
• Coordinate expectations with vendors and internal resources.
• Secure internal resources to keep projects on schedule.
• Develop project execution plans for third-party construction.
• Collaborate with Design Team on long-lead materials and alternatives.
• Review plans and specs and expedite approvals from engineering.
• Define scope of work and manage change orders.
