Job summary

CNA Insurance seeks an experienced senior claims professional to manage complex commercial claims with significant loss exposure. You will drive coverage determinations, investigations, and resolution strategies, including negotiating settlements and managing reserves.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), an Insurance Adjuster License, and has extensive negotiation experience, with professional designations like CPCU encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred in a related discipline or equivalent.
• Typically a minimum ten years of relevant experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
• Advanced negotiation experience
• Professional designations are highly encouraged (e.g. CPCU)
• In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of the most complex commercial claims with large loss exposure.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by improving all aspects of claim handling and resolution.
• Verifies coverage and manages reserves in line with policy language.
• Leads investigations to determine compensability and damages.
• Develops and executes a claim resolution strategy with internal and external partners.
• Manages significant claim budgets and resources.
• Identifies subrogation, salvage, or fraud opportunities for referrals.
• Maintains quality standards and timely file documentation.
• Presents high-profile information to senior leadership and others.
• Stays current on applicable state/local insurance regulations and trends.
• Mentors and trains less experienced claims professionals.
